Well, sittin here waiting patiently for Big, Little, Brother and his Fiance to come over to the King and Queen's castle, I decided why not try to update this thing.
Ummm, were to start. Thursday was the Queen's Birthday, I was so pleasantly overwhelmed spending the entire day with her and a few of our relatives that, by the end of the day we were overly exhausted and still bubbly when we retired .
The Queen got her hair did, I went short shopping, and we celebrated with a big finale at the end of the day. We listened to some great music from a fantastic band that I'd have to say "performed rather well".....
Sorry, I got excited when they played one of the songs that I had heard a many of times on the radio:-)
Let's see, Friday, I seen ol' Snakey Snake buy my little pool. Scared the crap outta me. He's was just a little thing but, in my mind, he was gonna be a big thing in the near future.
I went out today to my little pool, shovel ready, and he wasn't there. Hmmm.
Well, sorry for such a short post but the burgers are ready and my stomach is over talking my brain.
Until next time, take care of yourselves and enjoy the sunshine when ya can!!!
Well, another week has passed me by and so, on with the update.
As I last left you, I mentioned that I had another lunch date. And as usual, it turned out to be a exciting one. Needless to say, it only was a couple of hours that we both had the chance to catch up but, as we both know, we only had a certain amount of time before we had to carry out our other duties for the day.
I guess that happens to a lot of us now-a-days. Realizing that as we look back at how we we're younger, we wished that time would hurry it's butt up, and now that we are older we wished that time would slow it's butt down. I had once read a quote and have heard a many of time, "whatever you do, don't wish that the time you've got, away. Needless to say, you'll never get it back, and you'll think as time goes by, you wished that you did have it back."
*I try not to post video's that are over 5 minutes long but, with Pink Floyd, you might as well sit back and enjoy the ride because you never know what your gonna get with their music videos.*
I've come across a lot to sad story's on here, meaning the web, from the deaths of Dennis Lee Hopper to Gary Colman, to the oil spill. I'm not one to post negativity, but, geeze man, what I have to say is by far the most common sentence that we've all heard numerous times.... "What's the world coming to?"
I then, lean back in my chair and think to myself, a quote by Tom Bodett: “The difference between school and life? In school, you're taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you're given a test that teaches you a lesson.”
I then take a deep breath, close my eyes, and thank God that I have myself a wonderful family, wonderful friends, and a wonderful life to live.
When I was younger (not that I'm saying that I'm not young now) I use to make my life hard on myself, I admit. My Queen and King use to get so aggravated at me for being, so what we call "stubborn and naive."
And I can see why. They've both put their hearts and souls together to raise the two finest kids you'll ever come across at this day-an-age. Yes, I'm talking about my Brother and myself. We both consider ourselves blessed enough to realize that life isn't going to be hard on us, unless we make it that way for ourselves.
Now, don't get me wrong, I could have been born anywhere else in the world. Afghanistan, Chile, Haiti, you name it. I thank God that he put me where I am today. I thank my parents for giving me the opportunity to live the most simplest life that there is, and I thank everyone who've I came in contact with over the years for letting me have choices to make for myself.
*Sigh*
So, if your able to take a gander at this, don't you consider yourself thankful too?
Now, on with some uplifting prospects......
I am now an official owner of the wonderful movie Alice and Wonderland!!! Yep, just had to have it.
Glad I did too.
What's that? You haven't got a chance to see it yet??? Well then, I say get with the program you guys!!
My Queen and King did:-) Neener, neener.
Yesterday was quite a busy day for me.... From shopping, to a little gardening, to soaking up some sun, almost drowning in my own snot and spit, and to mowing the grounds.
*cough, cough*
Oh, yea, the drowning.....*sigh* Ok, so as I was soaking up some Vitamin D, I happened to get a little thirsty, so I decided after using the little purple spray bottle the my Queen bestowed upon me, I thought as I was laying there, why not unscrew the spray trigger and take a gulp?
Needless to say, I'm now leery of gulping on my right side while laying down.
The water was quite cool, only to the fact that I place a towel over the bottle so I'm not spraying myself with what would feel like a garden hose, that's been sitting out in the sun all day. With mouth full of water, I feel a trickle make it down my throat and into the wrong pipe.
So, the voyage begins..... I start coughing, and sputtering water out of my mouth because I know that the water I do have sitting in there, isn't going to go anywhere else but out.
While I'm trying to get my self propped up from my position, I roll to the left side and move the blanket over towards me so I don't wind up have this big wet spot to lay in when all is said and done.
Coughing and wheezing, I open my mouth and let the water trickle down my chin, because I can't even manage to spit it out during this process. And all the while, I'm finding the energy to finally make it to my knees and just tell myself "you've got to get some air, you've got to get some air."
So, while this is going on, I place my hand on the arm rest of the chair that I drag out there thinking "what to do, what to do."
I know if I run towards the back door of the house, I'd probably pass out half way there, due to lack of oxygen. I can't yell for help because I'm stuck in the boondocks wearing only my bathing-suit, only able to wheeze, and if I am able to yelp for help, the only people that would come to my rescue, are 2 hillbillies who will probably be too busy doing the eye googly thing.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm sure they would help out anyway that they were able to but, with the state that I was in, I need help then and there. Pronto.
*Gag, gag....wheeze, wheeze...cough, cough*
What to do, what to do.
Finally, through all the snot running out of my nose and wiping it off and to what sounds like an asthma attack. Watery eyes and heart racing 90 miles to nothing, I lift my hands towards the heavens above and say to myself "a little help here would be much appreciated, my Lord."
*Wheeze, wheeze...cough, cough* Thinking, "com'on already!!!" "Let me inhale even the tiniest breath!!"
Prayer answered........
*Wheeze, wheeze*
Inhale, exhale, very slowly....... Whew...... Thank you Jesus!!!
I sit back down, still in a state of panic, coughing, wiping snot from my nose, I think to myself, I just drowned in my own snot, spit, and a mouth full of water.
Ah, the moment's I bring upon myself.....
Well, that about does it for right now, you guys. I thank you again for checking in on me. Despite, of the little drowning accident, I'm all in all, doing quite well.
Until then, take care of yourselves and get out there and enjoy the weather!!!
Been a few days since I've came back to this. How ya been? I've been a little busy with work and all but, in all consideration, life is grand:-)
I've met a few people in my life and I gotta tell ya, nothin tickles me more than have the opportunity to be able to catch up with the ones that I've met in my earlier years!!
With that being said, I've have another grateful opportunity to go on another lunch date with a friend of mine that I haven't been actually able to see in the last few years. Occasionally, we've been able to keep in contact with each other through blackberries and internet but, to actually get a chance to see each other and spend a little time together has got us both excited today:-)
Was you able to catch American Idol last night??? A lot of great music legends on the show!! From Joe Cocker, Bret Michaels, Janet Jackson, Alanis Morissette, Chicago, and even Paula Abdul, the show was outstanding!!
Lee DeWyze!! Outstanding in your field!!!
Here's a video of one of the songs that he's gonna put on his record.......
And yes, it was a beautiful day for him and all his fans:-)
Well, that about does it for me you guys. I'm gonna make it a beautiful day for myself and you should too!! Until then, you guys take care:-)
I've been patiently waiting for the new releases to come out on the RedBox. Low and behold, Avatar was one of the many few.
I highly recommend that you rent it, buy it, so on, and so on.
You'll be glad you did!!!
Even if you don't like the story line, you'll be glad to see the special effects!!
Rawrrrrr!!!
Well, sorry for such a short post you guys but, I gotta get ready to go back to work in the morning. Hope you all have a great weekend and until then, take care of yourselves!!!
As you can tell, I've been away for a while but, never fear, I will return one day or the other.
Got a few things I'd like to share with ya........
Here's some pic's of one of the storms that moved in on me.
That's hail that your seeing on the ground.
It rained so hard that the water was overflowing in the gutter.
Notice the steam coming off the trees???
After the storm rolled through the steam off the trees carried a very distinctive smell of.........
Cedar :-P
I've made it through the tornado warnings, hail, and yes, I'll have to admit, I was a little bit computer-less during the last week or so.
All went well though. I was able to catch up on a few good movies
If you haven't seen any of these, I recommend that you go to your nearest RedBox near you!!!
Last but not least.....
Here is a new way to look at a deck of cards!!
Deck of Cards
It was quiet that day, the guns and the mortars, and land mines for some reason hadn't been heard.
The young soldier knew it was Sunday, the holiest day of the week. As he was sitting there, he got out an old deck of cards and laid them out across his bunk.
Just then an army sergeant came in and said, 'Why aren't you with the rest of the platoon?' The soldier replied, 'I thought I would stay behind and spend some time with the Lord.'
The sergeant said, 'Looks to me like you're going to play cards.' The soldier said, 'No, sir .. You see, since we are not allowed to have Bibles or other spiritual books in this country,
I've decided to talk to the Lord by studying this deck of cards.' The sergeant asked in disbelief, 'How will you do that?'
'You see the Ace, Sergeant? It reminds me that there is only one God.
The Two represents the two parts of the Bible, Old and New Testaments
The Three represents the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost.
The Four stands for the Four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John .
The Five is for the five virgins there were ten but only five of them were glorified.
The Six is for the six days it took God to create the Heavens and Earth.
The Seven is for the day God rested after making His Creation.
The Eight is for the family of Noah and his wife, their three sons and their wives -- the eight people God spared from the flood that destroyed the Earth.
The Nine is for the lepers that Jesus cleansed of leprosy He cleansed ten, but nine never thanked Him.
The Ten represents the Ten Commandments that God handed down to Moses on tablets made of stone.
The Jack is a reminder of Satan, one of God's first angels, but he got kicked out of heaven for his sly and wicked ways and is now the joker of eternal hell.
The Queen stands for the Virgin Mary.
The King stands for Jesus, for he is the King of all kings.
When I count the dots on all the cards, I come up with 365 total, one for every day of the year.
There are a total of 52 cards in a deck; each is a week - 52 weeks in a year.
The four suits represent the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.
Each suit has thirteen cards -- there are exactly thirteen weeks in a quarter.
So when I want to talk to God and thank Him, I just pull out this old deck of cards and they remind me of all that I have to be thankful for.'
The sergeant just stood there. After a minute, with tears in his eyes and pain in his heart, he said, 'Soldier, can I borrow that deck of cards?'
Well, that about does it for right now. Thanks for stopping by and until next time, take care of yourselves. :-)
Notice the background?? If it starts bothering your eyes, leave a comment and I'll see if I can't change it.
Yesterday was national prayer day. Although, you should really treat everyday as prayer day.....
The National Day of Prayer was first signed into law in 1952. A federal judge recently challenged the law calling it unconstitutional. That's why some say a recent survey by LifeWay Christian Resources is cause for Christians to be concerned.
Millions across America observed the National Day of Prayer, and many of those were here in western Arkansas where at least 17 events were held in our area. While the National Day of Prayer is not exclusive of other religions, it does embrace Judeo-Christian beliefs specifically. Prayer is important to those who gathered Thursday, numbers show they may not be having impact on young people as they had hoped.
This is the 68th year for the National Day of Prayer.
Good Morning!! I really hadn't had the chance to actually sit here and update for the last few days. As you can tell.
Ever wake up with a song in your head? I do every morning. It's like I got a radio chip stuck up there and when I open my eyes and start moving around, that's when it kicks it. I recently had this one stuck up there for the last few days.
Hope you guys have been doing well. Notice how nice the weather is? I love the Vitamin D orb!!!
Movies are getting better with their action packs, special affects, and whatnot's. Robin Hood, Nightmare on Elm, Avatar, and so on, and so on. What I really want to see is............
You guessed it!!! I just knew that one of these days this would be a movie!!
Ever played the video game??
I have!! Keener, keener.
Did you know that to get into a movie theater now-a-days costs you..... a whopping $10.50!!! Not to mention the popcorn, drinks, and junior mints.
Yea, I'm gonna wait.
The video game lives up to it's special effects, seeing how we are in the year of 2010 and all, I can only imagine what the movie will bring.
I say "bring it!!"
If it doesn't, I'm gonna be disappointed..... Wasting a dollar on the redbox.:-P
You could say that I'm set well in my own ways. You'll see that I really don't say much in the new beginning of this whole blogger but, give me some time, and I'll come around. I'm also not living on here 24/7. I've got other things to do besides updating every 15 minutes. I refrain from using any vulgar language also. Sorry, it's just not my kind of thing. Now, that I've seemed to wasted a couple minutes of your time, without a further ado, you may carry on.:) Thanks:)
